The Deputy Director of the Prisons Department Mr. Haris Filippidis and members of the Prisons Department paid a customary visit to the therapeutic community of Agia Skepi.
During the visit, a meeting and discussion took place on the way and principles of operation of Agia Skepi, the therapeutic program and its results, the success and recidivism rates, as well as ways to develop and deepen the cooperation.
This was followed by a tour of the Community's premises, workshops and structures, while the attendees had the opportunity to taste organic products produced in Agia Skepi as part of the therapeutic programme.
As part of the visit, the Prisons Department donated wooden benches to Agia Skepi, which were made by prisoners as part of the carpentry courses offered in the Prisons Department's schools. It is noted that since 2014 several prisoners have passed through the door of Agia Skepi, seeking treatment from addictive substances, and a large number of them have succeeded in making a new start in their lives.
