Members of the Civil Defence Force and officers of the Paphos District Administration have been in the areas of the Paphos District where a fire has been raging since yesterday.

The Civil Defence Force has contributed to the evacuation process of three communities (Psathi, Lemon and Houlou), ensuring that citizens are transported to safe places. In addition, arrangements were made yesterday and approximately 50 people, whose homes were severely damaged, were transferred to a Paphos hotel for overnight accommodation. Civil Defence forces remain in the area and are on standby to assist further within the scope of their responsibilities.

In addition, since early morning today, Paphos District Administration officials carried out a survey of the damage to dwellings in the Psathi Community. In particular, 14 dwellings have been affected, of which two were completely destroyed. At the moment, the crew of the Paphos District Administration is recording damage in the Polemiu Community.

The Minister of Interior is being kept informed by the competent services of the Ministry and has already conveyed the Government's decision to support the affected people and repair the damage.
