[PIO] Checking citizens through the CovScan Cyprus app in restaurants and entertainment venues

The Ministry of Health informs that the necessary arrangements have been made by the Deputy Ministry of Research and Innovation and the CovScan Cyprus application recognizes the conditions included in the special protocol that came into effect from today, February 24, 2022.

Therefore, managers of premises are invited to download the application CovScanCyprus[/B] and select the category to which their premises falls in order to recognise the relevant entry requirements.

Citizens will be checked by showing their SafePass and will be identified by showing proof of identification (ID card, passport, driving licence and birth certificate for children under 12 years of age).

Citizens can issue SafePass via the platform httpswwweudcc.govcy/ by selecting the type of Digital Certificate they hold (vaccination, infection, laboratory test).

Recall that:

The maximum number of persons in catering establishments, entertainment centres, music and dance centres is 500 persons, provided that the area of the premises allows for a ratio of 1.5 m2 per person.

Specifically. of available service space (excluding kitchen areas, toilets, storage rooms) and can serve more than 150 persons, admission will be permitted:

  1. To persons 12 years of age and older who hold a valid negative antigen (Rapidtest) of 15 hours regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery. [*]In children aged 6-11 years who have a valid negative antigen (Rapidtest) valid for 7 days regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery. [*]It is stressed that the owner/operator of the establishment/business must inform the Ministry of Health with a signed written affidavit that his/her establishment will accommodate more than 150 persons on the basis of its square footage and will provide music and dance entertainment, as well as the details of the Safety Officer at the following e-mail address: healthservices@mphs.moh.gov.cy (The Affidavit is included in the Special Protocol).

Food venues (restaurants, taverns, cafes, cafeterias, beer bars, snack bars, bars, cafes), serving more than 150 people and not including a dance floor, or serving less than 150 people and including a dance floor, admission will be permitted:

  1. Persons without a history of vaccination upon demonstration of a Rapid or PCR 24-hour test.
  2. To persons 12 years of age or older who have completed their vaccination schedule, or received a booster dose of vaccine, or hold a certificate of infection with the demonstration of a valid certificate of vaccination or infection.
  3. In children aged 6-11 years with a history of vaccination by showing a valid certificate of vaccination or disease, or without a history of vaccination by showing a valid negative antigen (Rapidtest valid for 7 days. [*]Dancing is permitted around the perimeter of the table.

c) Entertainment centers music and dance clubs, with more than 225 square meters. available service space (excluding kitchen, toilet and storage areas) and canservemore than 150 people, admission is permitted:

  1. To persons 12 years of age and older who possess a valid negative antigen (Rapidtest) of 15 hours regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery. [*]In children aged 6-11 years who have a valid negative antigen (Rapidtest) valid for 7 days regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery.

d) Entertainment centres, music and dance centres, which on the basis of square metres serve less than 150 persons, admission is permitted:

  1. To persons without a history of vaccination upon demonstration of a Rapid or PCR test of 24 hours' validity.
  2. To persons 12 years of age or older who have completed their vaccination schedule, or received a booster dose of vaccine, or hold a certificate of infection with the demonstration of a valid certificate of vaccination or infection.
  3. In children aged 6-11 years with a history of vaccination by showing a valid certificate of vaccination or disease, or without a history of vaccination by showing a valid negative antigen (Rapidtest valid for 7 days.
