The 3rd Stella Soulioti Human Rights Award Ceremony took place today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event was held in the presence of the members of the Award Evaluation Committee for 2023 - the Minister of Foreign Affairs (President), the Minister of Justice and Public Order, the Commissioner for Administration and Protection of Human Rights, Mr. Nelson Neocleous on behalf of Mrs. Androulla Christofidou-Henriques founder of "Cyprus Stop Trafficking" who was awarded the "Stella Soulioti" Award in 2022 and Mrs. Titina Loizidou. Also present were the Commissioner for Legislation, the Commissioner for Gender Equality, as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps.
The "Stella Soulioti" Human Rights Award for 2023 was awarded to the Cyprus Paraplegics Organisation (O.PA.K.). The Award was received on behalf of the Organization by Mr. Dimitris Lamprianides, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The Award Evaluation Committee also decided to award a commendation to the organizations "Caritas Cyprus Society" and "Generation for Change CY" for their contribution and work in the protection of human rights in Cyprus. On behalf of the organisation "Caritas Cyprus Society" the commendation was received by the Executive Director of the organisation Mrs. Elizabeth Kassinis and on behalf of the organisation "Generation for Change CY" the commendation was received by the co-founder Mr. Etinosa Erevbenagie-Johnbull. Neocleous gave a brief account of the activities of the Cyprus Stop Trafficking Organization for the past year.
