The official celebration of the Great Martyr Saint Barbara, Patroness of the Artillery Armour, took place today at the "ANT/ENGU STYLIANU STYLIANU CALBURTZI" Camp in Delikipo.
The celebration was attended by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, the Ambassador of Greece Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, Members of Parliament, the hierarchy of the General Staff and delegations of officers. Also present were representatives of state services, local authorities, retired officers, Defence Attaches, as well as military delegations of countries hosted in National Guard (NF) facilities.
As part of the ceremony, a static exhibition was organized in which the weapon systems and capabilities of the Artillery were presented, while a photo exhibition presented the evolution of the Artillery from its creation until today. The Historical Memory and Re-enactment Pages (HMP) also contributed to the celebration, with a historical exhibition of models and dioramas of artillery guns of the National Guard.
