The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, Department of Electromechanical Services announces that, within the framework of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan, the second phase of the "Electrification by 1000" grant scheme is announced, which subsidises the installation of 1000 electric vehicle recharging points.

Applications will be submitted online on the online platform of the project from 19/03/2024 at 8:00 am until 31/05/2024 at 12:00 am or until the sponsorship is exhausted, whichever comes first.

In Phase B, the support scheme changes. No cumulative restrictions apply and the number of stations each beneficiary can subsidise is increased. In addition, the right to submit more than one application from a single beneficiary is given, which will be considered as runners-up and will be evaluated only in the case of unused stations. In this case the beneficiary may claim up to 40% of the budget, provided that the sponsorship scheme is modified accordingly after the end of the application period.

Potential beneficiaries are natural persons engaged in economic activity, legal entities (Companies, Associations, Foundations), Non-Governmental Organisations, legal entities under public law, Local Authorities that are owners or tenants of a "Parking Space for Public Use".

Eligible installation sites are, inter alia, in parking areas for public use, municipal and communal parking areas, private parking areas for the public, petrol station areas, recharging station areas and adjacent parking areas.

Eligible costs include the purchase of a recharging station, electrical design, installation of a recharging station, connection to the electric utility, pavement marking, signage, construction work and ancillary equipment needed to install the station.
