The Hellenic Republic, once again, responded to the request of the Republic of Cyprus to provide humanitarian assistance to strengthen the country's preparedness to better manage possible increased migratory flows due to the events unfolding in the Middle East region. The Hellenic Republic has provided 200 tents and 800 sleeping bags, through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, which arrived on November 29, 2023 at the Port of Limassol.

Yesterday, (30/11/2023) at 9:00 a.m. in a modest ceremony, His Excellency Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou handed over the materials on behalf of the Hellenic Republic. On behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, the materials were received by Mr. Marinos Papadopoulos representing the Civil Defence Commander and Mr. Charalambos Attipas representing the Crisis Management Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The representatives of the Republic of Cyprus conveyed their warm thanks to the Hellenic Republic for its contribution and continued support.
