The Ministry of Justice and Public Order, through the National Coordinating Body for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women, announces the approval by the Council of Ministers of a special Grants Plan for the period 2023-2028 to support programmes and actions to prevent and combat gender-based violence.

The Special Sponsorship Plan sets out the criteria and establishes the conditions under which Non-Governmental Organizations, which are registered as associations or foundations, as well as any other body or natural person are entitled to receive a grant for the implementation of programs and actions that promote the objectives of the Istanbul Convention, the National Strategy and National Action Plan for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women 2023-2028 and the respective policies and priorities of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order in the field of preventing and combating violence against women.

The approval of the Special Sponsorship Plan, and its launch in the coming days, is expected to contribute to the immediate and effective implementation of the National Strategy and the General Action Plan to Prevent and Combat Violence against Women 2023-2028, which were approved by the Council of Ministers last February.

The allocation of financial resources for the development of targeted programmes and actions by civil society organisations and other actors will significantly strengthen the efforts of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order to prevent and combat gender-based violence and effectively protect and empower victims of violence in our country.
