1. Reflector washing works on the Nicosia - Larnaca motorway (A2) and Nicosia - Limassol motorway (A1)

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Saturday 17/2/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 12:00 noon, reflector washing works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Larnaca motorway (A2) on the central island in both directions until the exit of Athiinou and on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway (A1) at the height of Kornos on the central island in both directions.

On Sunday 18/2/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 12:00 at noon, the washing of reflectors will be carried out on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway (A1) from Kalispera lights to Pentaschino, with the exception of the Kornou area.

On Saturday 24/2/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 12:00 at noon, reflector washing works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Akaki motorway (A9) on the central island in both directions.

On Sunday 25/2/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 12:00 at noon, reflector washing works will be carried out on the central island on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue (B22) and Griva Digenis Avenue (B18) in both directions.

During the execution of the above works, the public is requested to use the left lane and demonstrate the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that may be caused.

2. The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months,

The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, the following works will be carried out, by a private company, the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment at 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings in the Limassol and Paphos area with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type pedestrian demand system.

The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, barring contingency, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it becomes necessary to install temporary traffic lights. The above intersections will be preceded by civil engineering work on the infrastructure.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to demonstrate the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary traffic signals.
