1. Waste collection works on the central island of the Limassol - Nicosia motorway, section Skarinou - Mouttayaka
The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Monday 16/10/2023, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 the next morning, on the central island of the Limassol - Nicosia motorway, in the section Skarinos - Mouttayaka, waste collection works will be carried out by a private company.
During the works, the express lane of the road in the direction of Limassol will be partially closed for approximately 500 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
2. Water pipe laying works at the Alambra junction with the Limassol - Nicosia motorway
The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that water pipe laying works by the Water Development Department at the Alambra junction with the Limassol - Nicosia motorway will continue until Friday 20/10/2023.
During the execution of the works, the entrance from Alambra to the A1 motorway towards Nicosia will be closed and traffic towards Nicosia will be directed from the Agia Varvara junction through the old Nicosia - Limassol road (B1).
3. Works for the installation of a new optical cable in existing manholes of Cytain Archiepiskopou Makarios Avenue in Larnaca
The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Saturday 14/10/2023, between 06:00 - 08:30, on Archbishop Makarios Avenue in Larnaca, work will be carried out for the installation of new optical cable in existing Cyta manholes by a private telecommunications company.
During the execution of the works, part of one lane of the road will be closed locally above the manholes and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
4. Works for the construction of a manhole and installation of a pipeline on the road from Pera Chorion to Analyonta near Kotsiatis
The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that during the period 16/10/2023 - 31/10/2023, on the Pera Choriou to Analyontas road near Kotsiatis (E102), well construction and pipeline installation works will be carried out by the Water Development Department.
During the execution of the works, one lane will be closed for a section of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the other lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights.
5. Replacement works of obsolete signalling equipment in the greater Larnaca and Famagusta area
The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from 06/09/2023 the replacement works of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company in 33 light-controlled confluences and 12 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings in the wider Larnaca and Famagusta area with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown system and touch-type pedestrian demand system started.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, unless unexpected, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service, unless it is necessary to install temporary traffic lights.

6. Maintenance works of the greenery of the central islands on the road from Tsangarides lights to Anthoupolis up to the roundabout of Anthoupolis and on the motorway (A9) from the roundabout of Anthoupolis up to the roundabout of Kokkinotrimithia
The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, from Monday 16/10/2023 until Friday 27/10/2023, between 09:00 - 14:00, on the road from Tsangaridis lights to Anthoupolis to Anthoupolis roundabout and on the motorway (A9) from Anthoupolis roundabout to Kokkinotrimithias roundabout, greenery maintenance works on the central islands will be carried out by the Forestry Department.
During the execution of the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed in both directions for a length of approximately 100 - 200 m. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show due understanding and comply with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
7. The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that during the period 16/10/2023 - 31/10/2023, except weekends, between the hours of 07:00 - 18:00, asphalt paving works will be carried out on the Tempria - Galata road (E908).
During the works, one lane of the road will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show the necessary understanding and comply with the temporary road signs and police instructions.
