[PIO] Announcements of the Public Works Department for road works in Nicosia District

1. Construction works of a storm drain and sewage pipe of the Sewage Treatment Plant at Nikis Avenue

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, from 15:00 in the afternoon of Saturday 14 October 2023 until 18:00 in the afternoon of Sunday 15 October 2023, on Victory Avenue, at the height of the lanes Rigas Feraiou and 25th of March and for a distance of approximately 50 meters, construction work will be carried out on the construction of a storm drain and a sewage drain of the SSP.

During the execution of the works, the left lane will be closed locally for a distance of approximately 50 metres and traffic will be diverted to the other lane.


2. Cable pulling works on Griva Digenis Avenue

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Sunday 15 October 2023, between 06:00 - 16:00, on Grivas Digenis Avenue, from the junction with 25 March Street to the junction with 28 October Street, in Egomi, in the direction of the roundabout "Kolokasidis", cable pulling works will be carried out.

During the execution of the works, the left lane will be closed for a distance of approximately 1000 metres and traffic will be diverted to the other lane.


3. Green maintenance works on the central islands on parts of Kalamata, Limassol (old road), and Nikos Papamina Avenues

The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Monday 16 October 2023 until Wednesday 25 October 2023, excluding weekends, between 09:00 - 17:00, on parts of Kalamata Avenue, Limassol Avenue (old road), and Nikos Papamina Avenue, the Municipality of Strovolos will carry out green maintenance works on the central islands.

During the execution of the works, the adjacent traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed from both directions for a length of approximately 100 - 200m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show due understanding and comply with the temporary road markings and the instructions of the Police.
