1. Works on the Astromeritis - Evrychou Motorway
The Project Engineering Office of the Astromeritis - Evrychou Motorway, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Tuesday 26 March 2024, and for a period of 6 months, as part of the construction of the Astromeritis - Evrychos Motorway, works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Troodos interurban road, near the confluence to the community of Vizakia.
Traffic on the interurban road will be carried out via a bypass road parallel to the existing road, for a length of approximately 500m.
2. Pavement maintenance works on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue (Kolonaki)
The Limassol District Public Works Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that from Saturday 23/3/2024 at 19:00 in the afternoon until Monday 25/3/2024 at 15:00 in the afternoon, road maintenance works will be carried out on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue (Kolonaki).
During the execution of the works, the section of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue (Kolonaki), from the light-controlled junction with Agios Athanasios Avenue to the light-controlled junction with Christakis Kranou Street, will be closed and traffic will be directed through Agios Athanasios Avenue, Kantaras Street, Edessis Street, Grivas Digenis Street, Christakis Kranou Street and the Beach Road.
3. The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that as of 25/3/2024 the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company will commence in 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 pedestrian crossings of Pelican type in the Limassol and Paphos area, with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type pedestrian demand system.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, barring contingency, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service and temporary traffic lights will be installed if necessary.
During the week 25/3/2024 - 31/3/2024 work will be carried out at the following intersections/pedestrian crossings. Γ. Kranidiotis (B8) / Anoixeos (Traffic Lights - Limassol) [*]Ave. Γ. 4. Work on the Limassol - Nicosia motorway.
The Limassol District Public Works Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Sunday 24/3/2024, from 06:00 in the morning until 10:00 in the morning, an overhead medium voltage line will be dismantled, which crosses the Limassol - Nicosia motorway near the Parekklisia - Pyrgos exit.
During the works, there will be short interruptions of the traffic flow on the Limassol - Nicosia A1 motorway in both directions by the Police.
The Department of Public Works apologises for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and invites the public to show the necessary understanding and comply with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
