[PIO] Announcement of the State Aid Control Authority for the State Aid Scheme for Breeders' Associations (Breeders' Societies) for Training

The State Aid Control Commissioner Ms Stella Michaelidou, exercising the powers granted to her under Article 10 of the State Aid Control Laws of 2001 to 2020, issued on 23 November 2023 a Decision in relation to the Aid Measure, entitled:

"State Aid Scheme for Breeders' Associations (Breeding Societies) for the Training and Maintenance of Breeding Books for the period 2023-2024".

The total budget of the measure amounts to €180.000,00 and its implementation period is for the years 2023-2024. The budget for the year 2023 amounts to €80.000,00 and for the year 2024 amounts to €100.000,00.

The Competent Authority for the application and implementation of the measure is the Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.

The beneficiaries of the measure are all breeders - stockbreeders who are active in primary production and are members of a breeding society. The measure will apply to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Decision No 444 has been posted on the website of the Office of the State Aid Control Authority.

The Union legal basis of the measure of the above Decision is the "COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2022/2472 of 14 December 2022 declaring certain categories of aid in the agriculture, forestry and rural areas compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union" (OJ L 327, 21.12.2022, p. 1).12.2022, p. 1)".

This measure was approved by a Decision of the Council of Ministers dated 1 November 2023, Proposal No 1227/2023, and a Decision of the Office of the State Aid Control Authority, published in the Official Gazette, dated 1 December 2023. The Measure will be put into immediate effect by the Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.
