Due to the unstable situation prevailing in neighbouring Israel due to the hostilities, the Cyprus Ports Authority announces that it is fully prepared to implement and execute action plans to deal with such cases, in full cooperation with the competent state agencies.
In addition, the Cyprus Ports Authority in cooperation with the private operators in the ports of Limassol and Larnaca, is ready to accommodate in Cypriot ports and anchorages emergency berthing and anchoring of vessels whose itineraries are affected by the war situation in Israel.
Furthermore, the Cyprus Ports Authority declares that our ports (Limassol and Larnaca) are ready, when requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to implement the ESTIA plan in order to act as a transit station, as in the past, in cases of evacuation of foreign nationals. Apart from this, it is reported that the new Limassol port has already received cruise ships destined for Israeli ports and docked in Cyprus, while other requests to dock/anchor ships in the ports/anchorages of the Republic are expected in the coming days.
The Port Authority remains vigilant for the handling of ships bound for Israel and is ready to provide the necessary assistance in cooperation with the relevant governmental agencies and private operators.
