The State Aid Control Officer Ms Stella Michailidou issued on 23 November 2023 a Decision in relation to the Aid Measure entitled: "RESTART Programmes 2016 - 2020 for Research, Technological Development and Innovation of the Research and Innovation Foundation".
The Measure is essentially a continuation of the same content, of the same title, of the existing Measure, with adjustments in particular due to the amendment of provisions of the legal basis by which it was deemed compatible with the State aid rules on 30.6.2023.
The total budget of the Measure amounts to €240,155,000.00 and its implementation period is from the publication of the Decision in the Official Gazette of the Republic until 31.12.2026.
The competent authority for the application and implementation of the Measure is the Research and Innovation Foundation.
Participation in the Measure is open to bodies such as research organisations, higher and higher education institutions, scientific and professional organisations, businesses, business associations, non-governmental organisations, public services, public utilities, as well as natural persons such as academics, scientists, researchers, technical staff, students and pupils.
Decision number 445 has been posted on website of the Office of the State Aid Control Authority.
The Union legal basis of the measure of the above Decision is the "Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 of the Commission of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty (Official Journal of the European Union L187 of 26.6.2014, p. 1) until its amendment by "Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1315 of 23 June 2023".
This Measure was approved by :
- Decision of the Board of Directors of the competent authority and
- Decision of the Office of the State Aid Control Authority published in the Official Gazette of the Republic, dated 1 December 2023. The Measure will be put into immediate effect by the Research and Innovation Foundation.
