"Law & Technology: The Future of Law and Justice in the Age of Artificial Intelligence"[/I][/I]
In the framework of the productive cooperation between the Cyprus Bar Association and the Office of the Law Commissioner on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between them, the Office of the Commissioner for Legislation participated in the 7th Educational Conference of the Technology Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association "Law & Technology: The Future of Law and Justice in the Age of Artificial Intelligence", on 12 October 2023. The conference was organized by the Technology Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association in cooperation with the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA), under the auspices of the Cyprus Bar Association.
The Commissioner for Legislation, Ms Louisa Christodoulides Zannetou, welcomed the Conference, touching upon the multifaceted contribution, limitations, concerns, as well as the continuous evolution of AI in the legal world. In particular, she mentioned the contribution of AI in the legal profession, in the field of courts and in the legislative field, due to her capacity as Commissioner for Legislation. Finally, she briefly referred to the development of AI and the consequences of such a development in shaping the legal profession in the future.
The Law Commissioner's Office thanks the Cyprus Bar Association and the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA) for organising this Conference and for inviting the Law Commissioner to it. Such seminars are now essential for the training and development of the legal world in view of the rapid technological development.
Finally, the Office of the Law Commissioner remains at the disposal of the Cyprus Bar Association in these programmes, in trainings and generally in any matter concerning the Memorandum of Understanding between them.
