A meeting was held today at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works under the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Mr. Alexis Vafeadis in the presence of Ministry officials with companies that have undertaken public passenger transport contracts. The main topic of the meeting was the impact on public transport and how companies can serve the public in the best possible way.
The companies undertook to study alternative ways and will soon announce how students and other passengers will be affected from tomorrow. Following instructions from the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, priority will be given to residents of mountainous areas, and to passengers who it is estimated will not be able to be served otherwise.
Tomorrow it will be announced when the equipment for the automatic fire-fighting system will be received, and therefore when buses are scheduled to return to normal public service.
The public is invited to find other means of transport in the coming days in order to minimise their inconvenience.
