The Deputy Ministry of Tourism, in the context of its efforts to strengthen the tourist development of rural, mountainous and border areas, grants, through the above Plan, the organisation of experiential workshops in the field of traditional handicrafts, the processing of agricultural and livestock products and wine and gastronomy, to be held in these areas.
The main objective of the Plan is to increase the visibility and visitor numbers of the Heartland of Legends experiential route Heartland of Legends, created by the Ministry of State. This route passes through rural, mountainous and border areas and offers authentic experiences for visitors to Cyprus, bringing them closer to Cypriot nature, tradition and the Cypriot way of life. At the same time, the Plan seeks to promote, enhance and enrich the tourism product of the countryside, stimulating local communities, including small family businesses. Furthermore, it seeks to promote sectors of culture and wine and gastronomy, as well as to trigger the creation of innovative business activities in these areas.
