The Deputy Ministry of Tourism announces the introduction of the "Historic Hotels of Cyprus" label, the aim of which is to establish the basic characteristics that a hotel or tourist accommodation establishment must have in order to be classified as a "Historic Hotel".
With the introduction of this label/standard, the Ministry of Tourism attempts to improve the image of Cyprus as a tourist destination and in particular to further promote and enrich our tourism product. It also aims to preserve the historical heritage of the country, to highlight the historical course of the hotel industry and in general to contribute to the development of the economy, the architectural heritage and social welfare.
Participation in the "Historic Hotels of Cyprus" institution is open to natural or legal persons who manage hotels/tourist accommodation, which have a valid licence and classification from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism or are covered by the provisions of Article 18 of the "Regulation of the Establishment and Operation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation Law".
