[PIO] Announcement of the Ministry of Social Welfare for the campaign "Always by your side", in the framework of the Pancyprian Seniors' Week 1-7

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare is running a campaign entitled "Always Next to You", which takes place during the Pancyprian Week of Older Persons on October 1-7.

Within the framework of the campaign, the decision of the Nicos Christodoulides Government to prepare a National Strategy and National Action Plan for the Elderly has already been announced, under the coordination of the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare and with the participation of other Ministries and competent bodies.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and inform about the actions and efforts made by the Government and especially the Ministry of Social Welfare on issues concerning the elderly. As part of the campaign, various actions have been planned in cooperation with organised groups and bodies, such as events, honourable mentions of elderly people who have contributed to society and visits by the Deputy Minister herself, as well as Neighbourhood Social Workers, to shelters and day centres for the elderly.

   Music Event for the Third Age at the Nicosia Multipurpose Municipal Centre.

   1. Wednesday 4 October 2023 at 16:30:

   Music Event in collaboration with the Metropolis of Tamassos and Orini, at the Storgi Senior Citizens' Home.

   1. Thursday 5 October 2023 at 10:00:

   Visit to the Evrychou Multipurpose Centre.

   1. Thursday 5 October 2023 at 12:30:

   Visit to the Astromeritis Senior Citizens' Home.

   1. Friday 6 October 2023 at 9:30:

   Event at the 4th Primary School of Limassol, with the participation of the children of the 4th Primary School of Limassol and elderly people employed at the "Pattiheio" Adult Activity Centre.

   1. Friday 6 October 2023 at 11:30:

   Visit to the "Vassiliada" Home for the Elderly in Polemidia.

   1. Friday 6 October 2023 at 12:45:

   Visit to the "Ekali" Care and Rehabilitation Unit.

   1. Friday 6 October 2023 at 14:00:

   Visit to the "Konstantinion" Home for the Elderly in Limassol.

   1. Saturday 7 October 2023 at 13:00:

   Retired Social Workers' Reception in Choirokoitia.
