The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance informs that, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Regulation of the Operation of Shops and the Conditions of Employment of their Employees, all General Shops, falling within the scope of the legislation, will have to remain closed on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, regardless of the fact that this holiday falls within the 10 days preceding Easter Day.

It should be noted that, under Article 16 of the legislation in question, 1 May is considered a public holiday for shop employees. Therefore, in the event that shop employees (general or special) are required to work on that date, they will be compensated at the rate of 1:2 for each hour worked, in addition to their normal daily wage.
