Regarding the batch of the antiviral drug Paxlovid received from Greece which is available in the pharmacies of state hospitals, the Ministry of Health wishes to clarify the following:
1. The batch of the drug in question, which has an expiry date of December 2023, has received an extension of the time during which it can be used, following approval by the European Medicines Agency. The new expiry date has been set as February 2024. It is noted that the extension to the shelf life of this batch was granted in January 2023. Therefore, the drug is perfectly safe.
2. Each formulation of the batch in question is accompanied by an instruction sheet from the manufacturer, which indicates the new expiry date.
