Regarding today's publication and a previous party position that "The Ministry of Public Health refused to investigate the effects of the pandemic" and because the information provided by members of this political party is neither accurate nor relevant, the following must be communicated to avoid misinformation.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth) already in the last period of the previous school year started planning not only for a special survey in view of the pandemic, but also for procedures for diagnosis and early prevention of learning gaps or other difficulties.
Preliminary work has already been done and both diagnostic tests to be carried out for the first time at an early age and a special survey on the psycho-emotional effects on the whole student population are being implemented.
With regard to the latter, there is even consultation and cooperation with university institutions and with the special committee on psychological support, as part of the broader Scientific Advisory Committee, which is working to address the pandemic.
This year, in addition to the survey on psycho-emotional support needs, there will be diagnostic tests in both pre-primary and other primary school classes, which will be introduced subsequently. The responsibility and competence for these issues lies with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and its competent services.
