The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (MESY) in cooperation with the Educational Service Commission, in order to solve the problem of not finding substitutes in Primary Education, have already proceeded with the inclusion of Kindergarten teachers and Special Education Teachers (Learning, Cognitive, Functional and Adaptive Difficulties) so that they can apply for appointment as substitute teachers. The Education Service Commission has informed all interested parties by today's announcement on its website.

In addition, to further mitigate the issue, the Ministry of Education, in consultation with the Education Service Commission, is considering the use, from the next school year, of staff working in the Optional Day Schools and in the morning hours as substitutes.
