The expert report in which the proposed road network of all phases and the part of the road Toxeftra - Avakas - Lipati is reviewed and re-evaluated was delivered to the Director General of the General Directorate of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Mr. Kostas Hadjipanagiotou. The report was prepared by a team of experts including a representative of the Cyprus Scientific Technical Chamber (CTEK). It is recalled that the review, among other things, includes the characteristics of the cross-sections and cross-sections for gentler driving within the forest park.
The report will be considered by the Ad Hoc Committee which will be convened at the invitation of the Environmental Authority on 31 January.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment is strictly following the timelines and actions to be taken as set out in the decision of the Council of Ministers of 20 December 2023 for changes related to the implementation of the projects of the Sustainable Development Plan (SDP) of the Akamas National Forest Park (ANP), within the framework and philosophy of the SDP.
