High dust concentrations are observed today, May 11, 2024, in the atmosphere according to measurements from the ground stations of the Air Quality Monitoring Network of the Department of Labour Inspection.

Because the dust contains small inhalable particles, which are likely to have a negative effect on human health, the public and especially vulnerable groups (children, elderly and sick people) are advised to avoid going outdoors until the phenomenon has passed.

Employers, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health (Code of Practice for the Protection of Persons at Work during Dust Episodes) Decree 2022 (Decree 410/2022), must take appropriate measures (organisational and/or technical) after assessing the risks to their employees in open areas and workers in such areas are recommended to use appropriate personal protective equipment.

For information, the latest hourly dust concentration values measured at 8:00 a.m.
