[PIO] Announcement of the Health Services for the recall of food from the Cypriot market, in which the allergenic substance celery was detected

The Ministry of Health informs the consumer public that the Ministry's Health Services, in the framework of the official controls carried out in the market, have taken samples of the following products, following laboratory tests carried out at the accredited laboratories of the General State Chemistry Laboratory, celery was detected without being included in the list of ingredients, in breach of the provisions of the legislation in force on food labelling.

Celery is one of the allergens and can cause health problems, such as an allergic reaction in people who are allergic to it.

The Health Services of the Ministry of Health have already informed the company that packages and distributes the product in question in the Cypriot market, with instructions for an immediate recall/withdrawal of all quantities of this particular batch.

However, as some quantity of these batches may already be in the possession of consumers who have an allergic reaction to celery consumption, they are advised to avoid consuming them and to return them to the places where they were purchased.
