[PIO] Announcement of the Health Insurance Organisation (HIO) in relation to the ownership of contracted hospitals

In view of the press reports concerning the above matter, OAI wishes to clarify the following:

The Agency is at the disposal of the competent authorities of the State, which have by law the competence and authority to investigate such cases, in order to provide any information to facilitate their work. In this context, the Agency intends to address these bodies expressing its readiness to cooperate and take all necessary measures should such a need arise.

With regard to the inclusion of new hospitals in the GHS, it is noted that the Agency is consulting with the authorised representatives of the hospitals, which are licensed by the Ministry of Health.
