The Ethics and Sports Commission announces that:
[*]Following a meeting with the President and Member of the National Betting Authority (NBA) and after listening to the arguments and concerns of the President of the NBA, the Commission has decided, in order to facilitate the work of the Authority, to no longer announce yellow and red warnings. This is within the framework of the cooperation between the NCA and the Ethics and Sports Protection Committee. [*]It has received the findings for the matches ENOSI YEON Paralimnios - Limassol, dated 20/05/2023 and OMONOIA - AEK Larnaca, dated 28/05/202, for which it will not issue any further announcement at this stage. [*]Decided to appoint an investigating officer to investigate the match between Geroskipou FC and ASPIS Pyla as well as the complaint and allegations of a group of investors of Geroskipou FC, according to which 8 persons are involved in football match fixing. The investigating officer appointed was former police officer Mr Stavros Stavrou. [*]Decided to appoint an investigating officer to investigate matters involving persons involved in weightlifting. The Investigating Officer appointed is the former Deputy Chief of Police Mr. Christakis Mavris. [*]Resolved that an Investigating Officer be appointed to investigate matters involving persons involved in boxing. Investigating Officer was appointed former Major General/Legal Officer Mr. Andreas Zonias. [*]Decided to appoint an Investigating Officer to investigate matters including persons involved in swimming. Investigating officer was appointed lawyer Mr. Charilaos Chrysanthou. [*]On Friday 12/01/2024 the Commission will issue a communication on the investigation conducted on shooting. [*]It publicly invites individuals who have sent anonymous complaints about the Ski Federation and the Fencing Federation to contact the Commission at info@cess.com.cy to provide further information so that the Commission can make a decision. Names and details will remain confidential.
