The Ethics and Sports Protection Committee regretfully considers it necessary to come back with a new statement following the new unsubstantiated allegations by the lawyers of the President of the Cyprus Football Federation Mr.
The Commission wishes to clarify that, although it considers the allegations made today by the lawyers of the President of the Cyprus Football Federation Mr. George Kouma to be unsubstantiated, the Commission does not accept the allegations made by the lawyers of the President of the Cyprus Football Federation Mr. Kouma.
The Commission wishes to clarify that, although it considers the allegations made today by the lawyers of the President of the Cyprus Football Federation Mr. Kouma to be unsubstantiated, it does not accept the allegations made today by the lawyers of Mr. Kouma. Kouma's lawyers today, concerning the alleged incompatibility of the President of the Commission, Professor Andros Kapardis, with his participation in the case in question, nevertheless all the meetings held without exception, which had as their object the investigation into the incompatibility of the President of the Cyprus Football Federation, were held in the absence of President Kapardis, presided over by the Vice-Chairman in accordance with the law. The lawyers of Mr Kouma's lawyers had this information very timely and we are very surprised that they are returning to a completely unsubstantiated issue in a clear attempt to shift the debate to non-existent issues.
We stress that whatever needs to be announced, without compromising the conclusion, will be announced next Wednesday.
