The Ethics and Sports Protection Committee informs about the decisions taken at its meetings on 26/09/2023 and 03/10/2023:
A.
The Committee decided:
[*]To adopt in its entirety the conclusion of the investigators Mr. Elias Stefanou and Mr. Efthymios Th. I.I. Elias Stephaniou and I.I. Ethilos Efthymiou. [*]To deliver the conclusion to the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus on 10/10/2023 at 11 a.m. [*]To request a meeting with the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth and to inform her about part of the finding, which concerns her powers and responsibilities. [*]To recommend to the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus the appointment of a criminal investigator for specific findings contained in the findings of Mr. Elias Stefanou and Mr. Efthymios Th. Efthymiou. [*]To consider whether to take further action on the basis of Article 4.2 of the Law.
B. Findings of an investigating officer regarding a possible violation of Law 180(i)/2017 in relation to the Cyprus Mountaineering, Climbing and Orienteering Federation K.OM.O.A.A.P.
The Committee decided:
[*]To adopt in its entirety the findings of the investigating officer Mr. Nikos Georgiou. [*]To hand over the conclusion to the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus on 10/10/2023 at 11 a.m.
The Commission announces that, based on the findings of the investigating officer, there is a violation of Law 180(I)/2017, i.e. an incompatibility arises.
