The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that as of 06/09/2023 the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company at 33 light-controlled intersections and 12 pedestrian crossings of Pelican type in the greater Larnaca and Famagusta area has begun.
The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that as of 06/09/2023 the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company at 33 light-controlled intersections and 12 pedestrian crossings of Pelican type in the greater Larnaca and Famagusta area has begun, with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type pedestrian demand system.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day - barring contingency - and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service. Temporary traffic lights will be installed if necessary.
During the weeks 27/12/2023 - 30/12/2023 and 2/1/2024 - 7/1/2024, work will be carried out on the confluences/pedestrian crossings:

- Limassol / Kastalia (Traffic lights, Larnaca)
- Limassol / Kastalia (Traffic lights, Larnaca) N. & D. Pattichi (Pedestrian Crossing, Larnaca)
- N. & D. Pattichi Ave. N. & D. Pattichi / Constantinople (Traffic Lights, Larnaca)
- N. & D. Pattichi / Constantinople (Traffic Lights, Larnaca) Gr. Afxentiou / L. Pierides (Traffic Lights, Larnaca)
- Ave. Arch. Kyprianou / Zakynthos (Traffic Lights, Larnaca)
- Ave. Protaras (exit) / Protaras Road - Kavo Greco (Traffic Lights, Famagusta)
2. Work in Larnaca District
The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Wednesday 27 December 2023, between the hours of 09:00 - 14:00, work will be carried out by the Municipality of Larnaca on Piale Pasha Street in Larnaca.
During the works, part of Piale Pasha Street from its junction with Athens Avenue to its junction with Mustafa Pasias Street with a total length of approximately 500 meters will be closed and traffic will be routed through adjacent roads.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and invites the public to show the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
