[PIO] Announcement of the Department of Public Works for projects in the Limassol and Larnaca Districts

1. Works in the greater Limassol and Paphos area

The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that from 25/03/2024, in the greater Limassol and Paphos area, work has started on the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company, in 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown system and touch-type pedestrian demand system.

Equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, barring contingency. During the work, light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service; temporary traffic lights will be installed where necessary.

During the week 22/04/2024-28/04/2024, work will be conducted at the following intersections/pedestrian crossings. (22.22.24.24.24. 2. Works in Larnaca District

The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that during the period 24/04/2024-31/05/2024, between the hours of 8:30-17:00, every day except weekends and holidays, the Municipality of Larnaca will carry out pruning and cleaning of the islands along the avenues within the city of Larnaca (Tasos Papadopoulos, Dimitris Christofias, Famagusta, Spyros Kyprianou, Alexandros Panagoulis, General Timaya, Independence, Giannou Kranidiotis, Nikos and Despina Pattichi, Limassol, Georgios Christodoulides, Hn. States of America, European Union, Artemis and Tasos Mitsopoulos).

During the execution of the works, the adjacent lanes will be partially closed from both directions and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show due understanding and comply with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
