1. Waste collection works in Limassol District
The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that on Saturday 6/4/2024, from 07:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m, on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway (A1), in the section Skarinou - Akti tou Kybernitis, waste collection works will be carried out from the central island of the motorway.
During the works, the express lane in the direction of Limassol will be partially closed. Traffic will be diverted to the slow lane and traffic will be managed by the mobile worksite system.
2. Sweeping works on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway and Limassol bypass road
The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that on Saturday 6/4/2024 and Sunday 7/4/2024, between 09:00-15:00 sweeping works will be carried out on sections of the Nicosia - Limassol motorway and the Limassol bypass road, from the Mouttayaka exit to the on-ramp of the New Limassol Hospital.
During the execution of the works, the express lane of the motorway/side road will be closed in sections, approximately 200m in one direction only, at any given time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
3. Horizontal marking works on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue (Kolonaki)
The Limassol District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that on Monday 8/4/2024 and Tuesday 9/4/2024, from 20:00 in the evening until 05:00 in the morning of the next day, horizontal signage works will be carried out on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue (Kolonaki).
During the execution of the works, parts of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue (Kolonaki), from the photocontrolled junction with Agios Athanasios Avenue to the photocontrolled junction with Christakis Kranou Street will be closed and traffic will be routed through Agios Athanasios Avenue, Kantaras Street, Edessis Street, Griva Digenis Street, Christakis Kranou Street and the coastal road.
4. Roundabout construction works on Ebas Avenue
The Paphos District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that from Monday 8/4/2024 until Tuesday 8/10/2024, at the intersection of Ebas Avenue with Christou Kkeli and Dimitrakis Adamou Streets, roundabout construction works will be carried out.
During the execution of the works, traffic on Ebas Avenue will be unhindered.
5. Asphalt paving works in Astromeritis
The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that the asphalt paving works from the junction of Astromeritis Ave. Arch. Makarios C' with Ave. Troodos in Astromeritis up to the offices of the Astromeritis Community Council (F928), which were expected to start on Tuesday 2/4/2024, between the hours of 08:00-15:00, will start on Monday 8/4/2024 and will be completed on Tuesday 9/4/2024.
During the execution of the works, one lane of the road will remain closed for approximately 150m and traffic will be directed to the adjacent lane using the STOP & GO method.
6. Cleaning works on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway
The Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that from Monday 8/4/2024 and for a period of three weeks, daily except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 20:00 in the evening to 01:00 after midnight, work will be carried out to clean the central island and replace the anti-glare system on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway, from the junction with Athalassa Avenue to Skarinou.
7. Replacement of old signalling equipment in the Limassol and Paphos Districts
The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that as of 25/3/2024 the replacement of obsolete signalling equipment by a private company at 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings started, in the wider Limassol and Paphos area, with a new type of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) with LED lamps, a Pedestrian Countdown system and a touch-type demand system for pedestrians.
The equipment replacement work at each location will be completed within one day, barring contingency, and during the work the light-controlled intersections and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service. If necessary, temporary traffic lights will be installed.
During the week of 8/4/2024 - 4/14/2024, work will be conducted at the following intersections/pedestrian crossings. (8.4.24.1. 8. Pruning and island cleaning works in the Municipality of Livadia
The Larnaca District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that during the period 10/4/2024 - 19/4/2024, between the hours of 08:30 - 18:00, daily except weekends, on A. Stylianou and Alexandrou Panagouli in Larnaca, the Municipality of Livadia will carry out pruning and cleaning works on the side and central islands.
During the execution of the works, the following traffic measures will be applied:
(a) On A. Stylianou Avenue from the roundabout of A. Stylianou Ave. from the roundabout of A. Stylianou Ave. from the roundabout of A. Stylianou Ave. from the roundabout of A. Stylianou Ave. from the roundabout of A. Stylianou Ave. from the roundabout of A. The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and invites the public to show the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
