In a new search conducted today by staff members of the Department of Prisons inside a ward, a mobile phone and drugs were found inside the cells. All the recovered items were seized and handed over to the Police for further investigation and clarification of the case.
The Management of the Prison Department, as part of the policy, which has been drawn up to combat organized crime and corruption within the Prison, has taken a number of measures, which from the result seem to be working.
The readiness and response of the Wardens to their particular duties, as well as their compliance with the new measures and the Directorate's instructions are remarkable and confirm the commitment of the Directorate of the Department to the community to maintain security and order in the Prison. Efforts are continuous and intensive.
