The Department of Fisheries and Marine Research of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that it is now accepting applications for a category C professional fishing licence, periodic employment, with the use of a vessel and without the use of a vessel (shoulder net).
The Category C professional fishing licences are for the use of 800 metres of nets with a boat and 25 metres with a shoulder net.
Applications will be received from 19 February 2024 to 8 March 2024.
In the event that there are more applicants than the number of licences available, priority will be given to those who have had the highest number of previous Category C coastal fishing licences for the category for which they are applying. If applicants meet this criterion and there are still permits available, then applicants with the most applications in the last three years of receipt of those applications (2021 - 2023) will be approved.
All applications will be received at the local District Units.
Applications will be available on the website of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research beginning Friday, February 16, 2024.
