The Market Supervision Act 2022, the Essential Requirements (Low Voltage Electrical Equipment) Regulations 2017, and the Essential Requirements (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Regulations 2017 to 2020.
The Department of Electromechanical Services as the competent authority for the implementation of the above Regulations, following the Electric Water Heaters (Electric Resistive Hot Water Tank) Notice dated September 2017, a copy of which is attached here, draws the attention of economic operators involved in the supply chain of electric water heaters and the consumer public that they should be accompanied by instructions and safety information in Greek.
It should be noted that the solar thermal system is the most efficient and "cleanest" way of meeting domestic hot water needs. It is a reliable device with minimal maintenance and a long service life. However, it is built to handle large quantities of water at high temperature and is exposed to all weather conditions, where the quality of the stored water plays an important role in its durability.
It is stressed that for the closed (pressure) water heater, to ensure the good functioning and longevity of the appliance, the consumer should ensure that maintenance is carried out by a plumber according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually every 2-3 years, and in particular for safety devices such as the safety valve In particular, it should be noted that the safety valve (pressure relief device) should be operated regularly to remove calcium deposits (salts) and to check that it is not blocked.
