In order to enhance safe navigation in the Zygios Port Area, which now brings together almost all of Cyprus' energy infrastructure, the Cyprus Ports Authority has decided to establish a Navigation Monitoring Station.

In the framework of this decision, representatives of the Port Regulation Directorate of the Authority visited the ICS Technologies plant from 29 to 31 May. During the visit, the thorough Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the equipment was conducted prior to delivery and installation.

The ICS Straitmaster radar is designed specifically for Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and port surveillance, offers unparalleled resolution and incorporates an innovative design, making it ideal for the complex requirements of surveillance and traffic management.

This installation marks a significant advance in maritime technology for the Cyprus Port Authority and the Republic of Cyprus.

The operation of the Zygios Navigation Monitoring Station is expected to commence within the first quarter of 2025.
