On the day of the electoral procedures for the election of Members of the European Parliament and local elections, officials of my Office and I will visit polling stations to check compliance with the following:
The electoral rolls made available to political parties/candidates do not include voters' identity card number, date of birth and father's full name.
It is recalled that the electoral list is made available to the parties/candidates at each election, for the purposes of transparency and control of the electoral process, on the basis of the Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 34.361 dated 1.11.1990.
During voting the voters' identity card number shall not be called out as there is a risk of its disclosure to unauthorised persons. Instead, the number of the voters' electoral booklet shall be called out.
It should be ensured that, at the end of the electoral procedures, registers and notes should not be used for other purposes incompatible with the original purpose for which the data were collected and should therefore be destroyed.
