The Larnaca Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (LRCRC) announces that yesterday, 19 September 2023 at 15:55, activated the National E-D NEARCHOS Plan in order to airlift a 62 year old patient, who was on board the Maltese flagged passenger ship "Evrima", while it was sailing 110NM west of Cyprus, within the E-D area of responsibility of the Republic of Cyprus (Nicosia FIR).
For the execution of the mission, a helicopter of the 460MED of the Air Command of the General Air Command of the Air Force was mobilised with a specialised nurse of the Ambulance Service.
The patient was safely delivered at 19:00 at the Paphos General Hospital.
