[PIO] Announcement of the Audit Service regarding the publication of Offsite about audits in the National Guard

In relation to today's publication of the website "Offsite" we note that, according to article 116 of the Constitution, "The Auditor General, assisted by the Assistant Auditor General, shall control in the name of the Republic all payments or receipts and all accounts of funds or other assets or obligations incurred by or on behalf of the Republic, which are managed by or on behalf of the Republic, and shall at the same time keep and control all such accounts. To this end, it shall have the right to inspect all books, records and statements relating to such accounts and the places where such assets are held.

On the basis of the above, the Audit Service has for decades been carrying out inspections of the assets of the Republic (whether they are military equipment or anything else) kept in National Guard units, always with the cooperation of the General Staff of the National Guard.

It is perhaps significant that in the tragic for our country case of the Mari explosion, both the Court of Cassation and the Supreme Court pointed out that in its audit the Audit Service had highlighted the dangerous conditions of storage of the containers a few months before they exploded.

And both courts mocked the fact that our remarks were ignored and questioned: "Why have audit mechanisms if they are not actually taken into account?"

So it is fortunate that this country has a judiciary, since some people would be happy if the Audit Office did not even exist as an institution.
