The Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance has promoted the criminal prosecution of the company "U.C.C. UNITED CLEANING (CYPRUS) LTD" for violation of the provisions of the Legislation on Occupational Safety and Health.
As a result of this prosecution, the Larnaca District Court sentenced the company "U.C.C. UNITED CLEANING (CYPRUS) LTD" which operates, among other things, in the field of concrete rubbish collection operations to a fine of €800 for the following breaches of the Occupational Safety and Health (Notification of Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences) Regulations in relation to an accident caused to one of its employees:
(a) Failure to immediately inform the Larnaca District Labour Inspectorate Office regarding an accident caused to its employee during the course of his work which rendered him incapable of performing his work for more than three calendar days excluding the day of the accident.
(b) Failure to send to the Larnaca District Labour Inspection Office a written notification of the accident by submitting a properly and fully completed approved notification form regarding an accident caused to an employee during the course of his/her work which rendered him/her unable to perform his/her work for more than three calendar days excluding the day of the accident.
