[PIO] Announcement for the inclusion of beekeepers affected by the devastating fire of Arakapa, among the beneficiaries of the "Dendrof Programme

The Council of Ministers approved on 22 May 2023, on the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Dr, the inclusion of beekeepers who are permanent residents of the communities affected by the devastating Arakapa fire, among the beneficiaries of the "Tree Planting Programme for Climate Change Mitigation".

Under this Program, the free allocation of tree seedlings from the nurseries of the Department of Forests to specific institutions and organized groups for the purpose of implementing tree planting programs is approved on an annual basis.

The aim of the Cabinet Decision is to restore the vegetation of the affected communities as quickly as possible, as well as to support the beekeepers operating in these areas to deal with the consequences of the devastating Arakapa fire.

Each beneficiary beekeeper will be able to claim free of charge up to three (3) beekeeping plants of the Cypriot flora per hive, with a maximum of three hundred (300) plants per beekeeper.
