The Office of the Commissioner for Legislation (GEN) welcomes the enactment of the Gender Equality Commissioner Act, which was drafted by the GEN in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality. This Law establishes the institution of the Gender Equality Commissioner, as well as the National Mechanism for Women's Rights.
The legislative establishment of the Gender Equality Commissioner demonstrates the state's dedication and commitment to strengthening and ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
The Legislative Commissioner's Office is confident that the provisions of the enacted Act will be put to best use by the Gender Equality Commissioner Ms. Josie Christodoulou and her colleagues to achieve real equality, to empower women and men in every aspect of social and professional life, and to create a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
