The launch event of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCC-CY) took place on Tuesday, 4 June 2024, at the ICT Academy of the Commissioner for Communications, in the framework of the European Project "N4CY: Development of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre of the Republic of Cyprus".
In his address, the Commissioner of Communications, Mr. George Michaelides stressed the importance of the work carried out by the NCC Cyprus, which is called upon, among other things, to create the cybersecurity community, provide sponsorship to society and undertake awareness-raising and education activities.
The Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Mr. Nicodemus Damianou, invited the attendees to make use of the services of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre of Cyprus, stressing that the state will continue to give due importance to the field of cybersecurity.
The event was also attended by Mr. Luca Tagliaretti, Executive Director of the Pan-European Cybersecurity Competence Agency, who outlined the Agency's vision to strengthen the integrity of Europe in the field of Cybersecurity.
The Head of the NCC-CY Mr. Polis Peraticos informed about the objectives, actions and future plans of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre and also made an open call to all to develop new strategic partnerships.
The celebratory event was attended by more than 100 stakeholders from the public and private sectors active in the field of Cybersecurity.
