The Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that as of 21/05/2024, the work of drawing warning horizontal markings has started nationwide, on the road surface, and installation of vertical signage with signs at light-controlled intersections and on the road sections where a light detection system (cameras) has been installed.
The aim is to upgrade and reinforce existing signage to further inform the public. This signage is purely of a warning nature and does not negate the road markings as defined under the Highway Code, e.g. at light-controlled intersections, the alt/stop line indicating a mandatory stop.
The Department of Public Works urges the public to continue to comply with road signs and the Highway Code at all times.
