Regarding today's article in the newspaper "O Fileleftheros", where it is reported that an extension of 17.5 years has been requested by the contractor carrying out the Nicosia perimeter motorway project, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works states that the contractor has occasionally submitted requests for an extension of a total of 6 years.363 calendar days.
All these requests have been reviewed by the project engineer and the relevant change committees and an extension of time has been granted until 16/06/2024, which is considered the final delivery date of the project by the contractor.
This extension represents approximately 15 months from the original project delivery date and includes approximately five months due to pandemic and adverse weather conditions.
