In connection with the under investigation incident of sudden death of an infant that occurred yesterday in Limassol District, the Ministry of Social Welfare informs that the person named as the child's supervisor at the time of the tragic incident is not registered as a home childcare worker under the Children's Law.
The Social Welfare Services of the Ministry of State are in contact with the Cyprus Police to assist in the investigation of the incident, within the scope of their responsibilities.
Parents are urged to check for the possession of a registration licence to practice the profession of home childcare worker by the persons taking care of their children to ensure that all necessary conditions for the safety of the children are met.
The Ministry of Social Welfare expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the infant.
