The Ministry of Justice and Public Order, in cooperation with the Office of the Legislative Commissioner, have proceeded with the revision of the three explanatory Guides on whistleblower protection, which explain in plain language the rights and obligations under the Protection of Persons Reporting Breaches of Union and National Law Act 2022 (Act. 6(I)/2022), from the perspective of the worker, the employer and the Competent Authorities.

The revision of these Guidelines was prompted by the enactment of the Protection of Persons Reporting Violations of Union and National Law (Amendment) Law of 2024, in February 2024, inter alia, for the purpose of better incorporating "Directive 2019/1937/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons reporting violations of Union law", and better implementation of the basic law.

The revised Guides have been posted both on the website of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order and on the website of the Office of the Legislation Commissioner.
