[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 5 March 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 5 March 2022:

- 2 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Female, aged 77 years, who died on 5 March
  2. Female, aged 78 years, who died on 5 March

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 875.

- 128 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in the hospitals of the OCYP

- 28 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/12 intubated, NICU: 15)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 54.69%

- 17 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 91,348 diagnostic tests

- 1,834 new cases were identified (total cases 331.508)

- Positivity rate in all tests 2.01%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 3.410 molecular tests

- 224 positive cases

- Positivity rate 6.57%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- Performed 87.938 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1.610 positive cases

- Positivity rate 1.83%

Tracing:

- 48 molecular tests were performed and 4 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 8,33%)

- 753 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 50 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.64%)

Private initiative:

- Conducted 1.743 molecular tests, 172 positive cases detected (positivity rate 9.87%)

- 52.769 rapid antigen detection tests, 985 positive cases detected (positivity rate 1.87%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 35,169 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 625 625 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling sites: 33.839 rapid detection tests detected 574 positive cases (positivity rate 1.7%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 577 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 1 positive case was identified (positivity rate 0.17%)
